Thursday 14 June 07: Long long long time
Ok, so it has been a while since I updated last....
Sunday 18 February 07: It's been a week
So it's been a week since I last posted, so what have I been up to?
Well, been busy selling trying to sell a set of decks for someone on eBay. These items are virtually unused as they are an unwanted gift. The price is quite high but I'm sure when we find the right buyer they'll go. I think in this scenario we might have to put them on a few times! Have to wait and see.
House saving is going good and should hopefully have a hefty deposit in 3-4 months which will make it easier (hopefully) to get on the property ladder. If anybody has got any good tips then please leave them as comments.
Anyway, hope to post soon.

Saturday 10 February 07: Premium Bonds
Have you ever spoke to an old person about premium bonds? Their answer is almost always "Yeah I've got some but I've never won anything!". After reading online about them I decided that they might be an interesting way to invest and it sure has been worthwhile.
Imagine being able to buy a lottery ticket that was valid indefinitely and that had a top price of £1 million each month and to top it all off you could even return the ticket and get your money back when ever you wanted. Well that's what a premium bond is!
Premium bonds(PB) cost £1 a ticket and your initial purchase must be at least £100 but after that you can buy a minimum of £50 at a time (by standing order). Premium Bonds can be purchased from the Post Office or are available online from the national savings and investment web site at nsandi.com. Monthly purchases can also be setup by standing order.
Each month numbers are picked by ERNIE (Electronic Random Number Indicator Equipment) for the million prizes on offer. They range from many £50 prizes to 2 £1 million pound prizes. Winnings can be re-invested or cashed in. And the good thing is you can still get your money back when ever you want! Purchased tickets are only eligible for the draw once a full calender month has passed.
After reading all about it I thought there's no harm in buying a few. So I purchased my initial £100 worth of bonds 12 months ago, alongside this I also setup a standing order for £50 each month (but using online banking I was able to cancel for a particular month if so desired e.g. Xmas). 12 months later my total price find is £150 (3 x £50). Not a bad investment!
Though I'm not a professional investor or advisor I would defiantly suggest to anyone interesting in saving to take a look. The end of the day, you can always get your money back! No other investment with this possible return offers this!
